Dr. Berger teaches social entrepreneurship and organizational leadership at the graduate level at Pepperdine. I have seen her IN ACTION inspiring the future leaders of the world as an invited guest speaker in discussing global consciousness for the last 7 years!

Bio Dr. Denise Berger, Ed.D.
I am a leadership consultant and graduate-level educator, helping individuals, teams and organizations achieve growth with purpose. I bring together practice-based, hands-on experience having run a global Fortune 500 business group, with acquired research-based knowledge and wisdom. I focus on educating leaders and their teams, developing a great workplace, and optimizing leadership efficacy. What do I mean by “optimizing leadership efficacy?” This involves identifying and developing the skills, behaviors, and strategies that enable a leader to be successful in your role, not just the analytical qualities but the soft skills too. I teach organizational leadership at the master’s level and include in my lessons: vision, mission, values work, resiliency, conflict management, relational intelligences, collaboration, systems thinking, and change management. I frame the lessons within a context of cultural intelligence, social responsibility, and impact thinking.
I have a BA in History from Colgate University, an MBA in Marketing and International Business from Fordham University, and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University. I am a certified Positive Intelligence® coach, helping people build their mental fitness. In addition to teaching Leadership & Service in the Social Entrepreneurship & Change program at Pepperdine University, I previously taught Program Evaluation in the same program, and I have taught Leading Inclusive Organizations in Vanderbilt University’s doctoral program for Leadership and Learning in Organizations. I have authored articles, scholarly work, blog posts, and appeared on the radio and in podcasts. My most recent publication can be found in the Routledge Series on Leadership and Change, a chapter entitled Why Leaders in the US Build Businesses with Purpose. Through the years, I have volunteered my time with Social Justice Partners LA (formerly Social Venture Partners) to coach cohorts of social entrepreneurs in their fast pitch and growth strategies. I have also coached TEDx speakers and Annenberg/CNN Hero awardees on their pitches.
